Woods complete double at Arlesey
Northwood continued their good away form this afternoon when they won 1-0 at Arlesey Town in an Evo-Stik Southern League fixture, which completed a double - having defeated the Beds outfit 5-0 on the opening day of the season.
After a goal-less first half in which the Woods were the stronger side, top scorer Michael Murray hit a 30-yard free-kick home just five minutes after the restart, and that proved to be the only goal of the afternoon. The match report and photos will be online later.
Woods' reserves were also successful on the road today, winning 2-0 at Hartley Wintney in a Suburban League fixture, Tesfue and Jamie McKay the marksmen.

Comfortable derby victory for Northwood
The Woods chalked up a comfortable Evo-Stik Southern League victory this evening with a 3-1 scoreline against Uxbridge at Chestnut Avenue in a local derby Central Division fixture.
Niko Muir put the Woods in front on 16 minutes, and Michael Murray made it two from the penalty spot after Muir had been dragged down seven minutes into the second period.
Then in the 65th minute a George Nicholas cross was turned in by Dan Bailey for own goal, before Uxbridge gained a consolation with ten minutes remaining, when Berkley Laurencin saved a penalty but the loose ball was then scrambled over line.
The three points moved Northwood up to eighth in the table - but, remarkably, just two points away from the divisional leadership, such is the closeness of the competition this season. The match report is here.
