Awards Night 2009
Mark Burgess, John Christian & Brad Hewitt share the top awards
Woods skipper Mark Burgess and midfield man John Christian were deservedly amongst the awards at the the Club's 2009 Presentation Dinner. Mark received the Supporters' Player of the Year award, whilst JC collected the Players' Player of Year trophy at the annual event, held once again at the Metropolitan Police Sports Club in Bushey, on 15th May. Last season Bradley Hewitt collected all three main awards, but this time around he had to settle for the Management's Player of the Year. Danny Brown was named Most Promising Player of the Year, whilst Anthony Page's excellent strike at Cheshunt earned him the Goal of the Season award. Goalkeeper Mark Britt was named Reserves Player of the Year, and Sam Durand won the Third Team Player of the Year trophy. Geoff Foster's sterling efforts after again taking on the reserve team manager's role saw him named Clubman of the Year, Richard Elderfield was awarded the Ted Tucker for his great work in the youth section, and the Chairman's Award went to Mick Russell. Many thanks to Marie Scott, who once again did a superb job in organising the evening. Thanks also to all who supported what proved to be a very successful auction on the night!
