Northwood Under 18s trials are this week

Northwood FC Under 18 Ryman Youth League squad trials for next season will be held at Northwood FC, Chestnut Avenue, Northwood HA6 1HR this Thursday, 18th June.

Players should arrive by 6.00pm at the latest for registration and warm-up. Trials will commence at 6.30pm and will last for approximately 90 minutes.

Northwood drawn away in County Cup

The Woods have been given an away tie against Hendon in the second round of the Middlesex Senior Cup for next season. Northwood have reached the final on three previous occasions, winning in 2007, whilst they were defeated by The Greens in the 2002 final.

The first round of the competition, which features the county's Step 5 clubs, has the following ties: Spelthorne Sports v Bedfont Sports; Wembley v Enfield 1893; Harefield United v AFC Hayes; Hanworth Villa v Ashford Town.

The full second round draw is: Staines Town v Barnet; Harrow Borough v Wealdstone; Spelthorne Sports / Bedfont Sports v Wembley / Enfield 1893; Hanworth Villa / Ashford Town v Harefield United / AFC Hayes; Hanwell Town v Uxbridge; Hendon v Northwood; North Greenford v Enfield Town; Hayes & Yeading United v Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Suburban League line-up released

Following the League AGM earlier in the week, Northwood’s reserve team will again compete in the Suburban League North Division alongside ten other clubs. Aylesbury and Kings Langley are both new to the Division this year, while Tring Athletic were relegated back to the North after a season at Premier Division level. Camberley Town and Farnham Town were switched to the South Division.

The season starts on Saturday 15th August and the full line-up is as follows: Aylesbury, Berkhamsted, Biggleswade United, Camberley Town, Harefield United, Hartley Wintney, Kings Langley, Leverstock Green, North Greenford United, Northwood, Tring Athletic.

Northwood FC is delighted to welcome on board Tom Holder, who will act as secretary to the Suburban League and Ryman Youth League teams in the new season.

Pre-season fixtures confirmed

A number of pre-season friendlies have now been confirmed for Northwood, ahead of the new Evo-Stik Southern League campaign, which gets underway on Saturday 8th August.

On Saturday 11th July, Mark Burgess takes his squad to Hendon’s new ground at Silver Jubilee Park for a 12.30 p.m. kick-off. A trip to Molesey follows on Saturday 25th July (3.00 p.m.) and to Chipstead on Saturday 1st August, also at 3.00 p.m.

Conference champions Barnet visit Northwood Park on Monday 3rd August, kick-off 7.30 p.m. Further fixtures are expected to be advised in due course.

All change in Southern League!

Following the relegation of Clevedon Town from Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South & West due to ground-grading issues, the following changes at Step 4 were today approved by the FA: Ware transferred from Isthmian League Division One North to Evo-Stik Southern Division One Central; Burnham, Flackwell Heath, and Marlow transferred from Division One Central to Division One South & West; Fleet Town and Petersfield Town transferred from Division One South & West to Division One Central.

Therefore, Northwood’s Division One Central is now scheduled to look like this: AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Arlesey Town, Aylesbury, Aylesbury United, Barton Rovers, Beaconsfield SYCOB, Bedford Town, Chalfont St Peter, Egham Town, Fleet Town, Godalming Town, Hanwell Town, Kings Langley, Leighton Town, North Greenford United, Northwood, Petersfield Town, Potters Bar Town, Royston Town, St Ives Town, Uxbridge, Ware. Further changes are always possible prior to the League A.G.M. on 20th June!
