The Under 18s got back to winning form at home to Bedfont Sports when they notched all three points with a narrow 3-2 victory.
The train strikes led to a couple of players not arriving on time, and Woods fell behind early on but then got back into the match when Oscar John tucked away a penalty.
John then quickly put the Woods in front and they held that advantage through to the half-time break.
It was another penalty award that led to John completing his hat-trick from the spot to make it 3-1 but Sports are always a tough side to beat and they showed good spirit to reduce those arrears with a goal from the division’s top scorer.
There was still twenty minutes to hold out and the Woods defence did well, especially when John blotted his copybook by picking up two soft yellow cards; one for delaying the restart and a second for simulation.
