Northwood's Under 18s have enjoyed a good solid second half to the season in the Ryman Youth League, finishing in fifth place ahead of the Academy clubs of Aldershot Town and Wingate & Finchley, while Hayes & Yeading took the West Division title. To finish off the campaign, the lads' efforts were rewarded with a home friendly against Queens Park Rangers Under 18s, managed by former QPR and Chelsea star Paul Furlong. Nine of the QPR squad had been in their team for their last Professional Development League game of the season, including top scorer Brandon Adams. The Northwood youngsters put on a great performance, holding a strong side from the Barclays Premier League club to a 1-1 scoreline at the break - Jamie Doolan netting for the Woods. QPR grabbed the winner in the second half, but the Northwood side can be very proud of their efforts. | |||||||
