A well earned point was gleaned on Saturday against a higher class team from Sutton United. The match itself was of poor quality, but the Woods got a valuable point.
The first half brought only two shots on target, one from each side as both defences were on top of their game.
Northwood were forced to make a substitution before the break when Andy Murphy limped off to be replaced by Lorenzo Ferrari. It was in the added time that Sutton took the lead when Idowu Ilesanai slotted home a cross from the right.
The Woods hit back within eight minutes of the restart. The best move of the match saw Dave Hewitson bring the ball out of defence with a terrific run down the left, play it through to Janssen, whose pass found Ryan Lee to crack the ball home.
The Woods were lucky a couple of times late on when Sutton threatened but good work from debutant keeper Takunda Marevesa kept them out.
