With just two weeks before the season opens, Woods travelled to Molesey, who are newly-promoted back to Ryman League Division One South after winning the Combined Counties League last season.

On the best pitch Northwood had encountered this season, it was an entertaining match and after new signing Louis Stead had seen one effort cleared off the line, Joakim Ehui scored to put the Woods in front. The home side looked useful, too, and did level the scores in the second half with a penalty from one-time Northwood striker Stafforde Palmer but Woods finished strongly and Michael Murray was very unlucky to see a great strike crash back off the crossbar.

The latest trialist in goal for this game was David Moran and he did well with a fine save to deny Palmer a second goal.
