Draw specialists Northwood played out their fifth stalemate in six home league games as they failed to overcome local rivals Uxbridge in the Boxing Day clash at the Acretweed Stadium.
Woods reverted to a three-man backline, with Jonathan Munday making only his second start of the season. Miguel Matos came in at left wing-back with Matt Cooper still struggling with his ankle injury while Dan Newton returned at right wing-back with Sam Jenkins reverting to the bench. There was also change up top with Ben Pattie not fully fit, Kweku Lucan partnering Andrew Ofosu in attack while Kyran Worrell was unavailable.
Northwood were quickly out of the blocks and should have taken an early lead as Ofosu latched onto Imran Uche's ball over the top and after holding off the Uxbridge defenders was denied by keeper Hossam Hassan.
Woods continued to carry the greater threat with Hossam gathering a shot from Chris Gosling before the Uxbridge stopper palmed away a fiercely struck Lucan effort with Uche going close from the resulting corner.
And Northwood confirmed their superiority by opening the scoring on 35 minutes as Dan Pett's shot from the edge of the box crept inside the post after Uxbridge failed to clear a Gosling corner.
However, Woods lead was short-lived as they gifted possession to Luke Joyce-Dwanka, who rifled his shot in off the far upright to restore parity on 40 minutes.
Northwood looked to regain their lead before the break and they went close as Lucan's low cross was taken off the boot of Ofosu by some desperate Uxbridge defending.
Woods were struggling to regain their attacking impetus following the restart and they had some defending to do as keeper Luke Sheldrick gathered a long-range effort from Joyce-Dwanka.
Hakim Nyariki replaced Gosling, on the hour with the former making his first appearance following his brief sojourn to Aylesbury, while Pett made way for new signing Jabir Laraba to face his former team. And Laraba wasn't far away with a flicked header from Leigh Stevens' cross while at the other end Sheldrick dealt with a quickly taken Joyce-Dwanka free-kick.
Woods made their final substitution with Jenkins replacing Newton and the hosts were beginning to threaten with Dave Thomas almost heading a Matos cross into his own net before Stevens saw his shot fly the wrong side of the post. However, Uxbridge went close as Sheldrick had to tip a deflected Matt Sinclair shot around the post.
Northwood were growing increasingly desperate as they strived for the winning goal with Stevens trying his luck from distance before, a stoppage time goalmouth scramble saw Lucan and Stevens having shots blocked by the Uxbridge defence.
But the goal wouldn't come as Woods had to settle for another draw, a fair outcome for a performance where Northwood hadn't shown the necessary quality to breakdown a resolute Uxbridge outfit.
