SPEED KILLS IN CUP-TIE
KINGS LANGLEY 1 NORTHWOOD 2
The pace of forwards Martin Ellis and Junior Jones gave Northwood a 2-1 win in their Rickmansworth Charity Cup tie against Herts County Premier Division side Kings Langley on Monday.
Northwood took the lead in the 25th minute when Jones headed in Robin Tidd's corner – but Kings Langley came back to equalise in spectacular fashion.
Curran lost possession 40 yards out and with Currell off his line, Lawford seized the chance to lob home a beautiful goal.
Ten minutes later Northwood were back in the lead again when Ellis sprinted through to leave the defence trailing and slip the ball home.
Northwood: Currell, Mick Ellis, Heslop, Mills, Merison, Tidd, Coburn, Cooper, Livingstone, Curran, Jones.
