GARY COOPER IN STAR ROLE
NORTHWOOD 4 BOROUGH ROAD COLLEGE 2
Gary Cooper Northwood’s young striker with the film star name, scored his first hat-trick of the season in the midweek Middlesex League match with Borough Road College.
The Woods were without several of their regular first team players, but Tidd, Evans and Pearce took immediate control of midfield, and covered a great deal of the pitch.
Cooper got the first goal in the 15th minute, and followed up by laying on a chance for Dibbens to make it 2-0.
Northwood really looked sharp, and they had the game sewn up when Dibbens slipped the ball to Cooper, who rounded the keeper and hammered the ball home at the second attempt.
A dreadful mistake by Kessell gave Borough Road a goal back within 60 seconds of the start of the second half, but Cooper was quickly on hand at the other end to round off his hat-trick.
Three minutes from time Borough Road pulled back another when a horrendous back-pass found its way past the stranded Kessell.
Northwood: Kessell, Mills, Harman, Gould, Heslop, Tidd, Evans, Roberts, Pearce, Dibbens, Cooper.
