WOODS VICTORIOUS OVER LEAGUE SIDE
WEST MIDDX COMBINATION 0 NORTHWOOD 3
In a hastily arranged friendly Northwood proved too strong for the West Middlesex Combination League side. Both sides weren't at full strength as the early start prevented several from making the game.
Northwood were able to give Jeff Roberts and Ernst Deitricht a 1st XI debut, while Hester and Roche and Byrne had run-outs.
It took the teams a while to settle under the lights, but when they did, they produced an entertaining match for the sparse crowd.
Both sides thoroughly enjoyed the match and although the Woods rarely looked in danger of losing, they had to produce some of their best to overcome the league side.
Ernst Deitricht netted two brilliant efforts, while the powerful Wanless scored the third.
Burt and Harvey excelled in midfield, and Roberts could he pleased with his debut. Madigan did well with Gould at the back.
Northwood: R. Byrne, C. Hester, P. Madigan, B. Gould, P.J. Byrne, W. Burt, I. Harvey, J. Roberts, E. Deitricht, B. Wanless, T. Roche.
