EASING HEADACHE
GIOVANOTA 0 NORTHWOOD 2
Northwood eased a headache from their backlog of fixtures, gaining both points from their 2-0 win at Giovanota.
Horsford was again Northwood's danger-man, being foiled only by the sticky conditions and some great goalkeeping.
He made the opening for Byrne, to head Northwood into the lead. Northwood's defence held firm on the upward slope in the second half and killed all the home side's best efforts.
At the other end Byrne was foiled by two brilliant saves from the keeper.
The second goal, set up by Gould, sealed the game when Horsford found a space to nip in and head home. |
