NORTHWOOD UNBEATEN
NORTHWOOD 3 HARROW ST MARY’S 0
Northwood kept their unbeaten Harrow, Wembley & District League record with a 3-0 home win against neighbours Harrow St Mary, but they never touched the form they showed in the previous week’s cup-tie.
The first half lacked excitement, but Northwood managed to score, a 45-yards free-kick from skipper Jackman soaring over the keeper’s arms.
Northwood slowly took the initiative in the second half, their defence stifling Harrow’s efforts to get back into the game.
D.P. Byrne hot the second goal from an acute angle after a defensive mistake, and Coombes made it 3-0 with a 40-yards drive which passed under the outstretched keeper.
Northwood’s win took them to the top of the Senior Division table.
Northwood: R. Byrne, D. Byrne, T. Brownlow, G. Harding, L. Kaufman, D. Jackman, B. Gould, B. Coombes, D.P. Byrne, D. Gregory, D. Godley.
