American Jay didn't actually get to play a League game for Northwood. Then aged 24, he only appeared for the Woods in a couple of pre-season friendlies, including one against Watford in July 2004 (pictured below).The then Watford manager Ray Lewington was impressed by Jay's performance in the game, and invited him to train with the club. That was followed by a one-year contract, then a longer one. He played regularly in the Premier League - after scoring the play-off winner that took Watford there - became club captain and played for his national side 25b times, ending his career at Vancouver Whitecaps. So Jay's amazing story shows that dreams really can come true!!
