FA reveal provisional Step 3 and 4 boundaries

The FA’s Leagues Committee have revealed provisional Step 3 and 4 league boundaries ahead of next season’s National League System shake-up.

From season 2018/19, a new division is to be introduced at Steps 3 and 4.

At Step 4, the seven areas will be divided as shown in the graphic left (click to enlarge). The Isthmian League will have responsibility for the green, blue and orange areas, the Southern League will administer the yellow and pink areas. At Step 3, a new central division will be created; the Southern League will administer two areas, the Isthmian League one area.

It is emphasised by the FA that, for the time being, this is a guide only and they have deliberately not included names of clubs because the full allocation can only be made when the identities of the constituent clubs are known.

Evans Kouassi fired the Woods ahead on 37 minutes, but they couldn't hold onto the advantage, Jack Keating levelling in the 58th minute.

Early goal costs Woods at Marlow

A goal after just five minutes cost the Woods the Evo-Stik League South, East points at Marlow this afternoon, Curtis Chapple's early strike proving to be the only goal of the afternoon.

It proved to be a very frustrating afternoon for Northwood, who dominated for much of the game but lacked punch in front of goal and went down to a 1-0 defeat.

The match report and photos are here, and the Woods are back in action on Tuesday evening, when they play Barton Rovers at Chestnut Avenue.

Uxbridge derby game is postponed

This afternoon's Evo-Stik League South, East Middlesex derby clash with Uxbridge at Chestnut Avenue has been postponed as the playing surface is waterlogged. The match referee made the decision at 1.00 p.m. as the rain continued to fall.

The postponement means a delayed Woods debut for interim manager Jake Heracleous' new signings, midfielder Charley Barker and defender Andrew Camilo-Tayaca both having arrived from Leyton Orient on work-experience loans. Meanwhile, experienced midfielder Tyler Hatherly has moved on to Spartan South Midlands outfit Welwyn Garden City after a few weeks' stay at Northwood Park.

Middlesex derby draw for Woods

In atrocious playing conditions, Northwood this afternoon shared the Middlesex derby Evo-Stik League South, East points with a 2-2 draw away to Ashford Town.

The home side took an early lead, with Woods levelling on 21 minutes when Wilson Chingoka headed in off a post following a Harry Newman cross.

Ashford went ahead again just past the hour mark from the penalty spot, but within a minute Chingoka battled through into the box to force the ball home for his second goal and Northwood's equaliser. The match report and photos are here.
