Hanwell are winners at The Fenton

Northwood went down to a 0-3 Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeat this afternoon at the hands of Middlesex rivals Hanwell Town at The Fenton Civil Engineering Stadium.

The Woods had an impressive first half hour, but they ran out of steam in the second forty-five, and Hanwell easily closed the game out.

Josh is Northwood's second Christmas signing

The second of our new signings in the run-up to Christmas is experienced forward Josh Helmore. The 29-year-old joins the Woods from divisional rivals Binfield, where he has netted eight goals in 16 league games this season and is in double figures for the season.

Josh started out with Reading Town and has also played for Gloucester City, Thatcham Town, Berkhamsted and Bracknell Town.

Welcome to the Woods Josh!

Kyal Williams joins the Woods

The Woods management team have strengthened their attacking options this week with two new signings, one of which we announce now!

The club welcome attacking wide player Kyal Williams who joins us for the rest of the season from Kings Langley. The 20-year-old has been “on loan” at near neighbours Oxhey Jets, where he bagged 12 goals in 17 appearances and now tests himself at the higher level.

We thank both clubs for their co-operation to make the signing trouble-free. Kyal was at Watford Academy as a youth and also played for Hertford Town under-21s and Berkhamsted Raiders.

Northwood support Shelter's #NoHomeKit campaign

For our home Pitching In Isthmian League South Central fixture against Hanwell Town next Monday, 27th December, the Woods will be supporting Shelter's #NoHomeKit campaign by wearing our all blue away strip.

Why are football teams are wearing their away kit on Boxing Day?
Whether watching from the terraces or gathered around the TV, football understands the importance of home. But in the space of one 90-minute game, 25 households will become homeless in England. Many of them will be families with children. By ditching our home colours this Boxing Day and donating to Shelter, we will be helping find safe and secure homes for people whose lives are on the line.

To find out more about this important campaign, and to donate, please visit the Shelter website.

Single Thatcham goal snatches the points

A single second half goal was enough to win the Pitching In Isthmian League South Central points for Thatcham Town at The Fenton Civil Engineering Stadium today.

The Woods continued to show their improved form of recent weeks, but were unable to finish that elusive finish. Northwood looked to be denied a clear penalty in the second half, but their claims were waved away.

Northwood enjoy great win at Chertsey

The Woods enjoyed an excellent Pitching In Isthmian League South Central afternoon on the road when they ran out 4-2 winners at Chertsey Town today.

Chertsey are enjoying a fine season so far, and went into the game in fourth place in the table and still unbeaten in the league. That latter record was ended in style today by Ben Bukowski and Steve Ringrose's team!

Northwood led at the interval through Micah Jackson's ninth minute goal, and Ryan Young increased the advantage on 50 minutes. But Chertsey, backed by a large crowd, hit back strongly with two goals to level - however a brace from Sydney Ibie ensured that the points headed back to the Fenton Civil Engineering Stadium! The match report and photos are here.
