Ashford run out winners at The Fenton

The first home game for the new management team Ben Bukowski and Steve Ringrose didn't turn out as planned this afternoon as the Woods went down to a 0-3 Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeat at the hands of Ashford Town.

On a bitterly cold and windy afternoon, the new-look Northwood side showed that they have a way to go to get bedded in after two victories in the past week, and an unfortunate first half missed penalty was a major turning point.

The match report and photos are here.

Northwood hit five in County Charity Cup tie

The Woods were in Middlesex Senior Chaity Cup action this evening, and they comfortably progressed to the quarter-finals with a 5-2 victory away to Combined Counties Leaguers Hanworth Villa on a cold, foggy night.

There were two goals for Micah Jackson and one each for Teddy Stacey, Tommy Boxer and Yiannis Constantinou, as Northwood made it two wins from two outings since going under new management. The match report and photos are here.

New-look Woods take the points at Chipstead

Northwood started their life under new management with an excellent 1-0 Pitching In Isthmian League South Central victory away to Chipstead this afternoon.

New management team Ben Bukowski and Steve Ringrose gave debuts to eight new signings for the game, one of whom, Sydney Ibie, scored what proved to be the winning goal after nine minutes when he turned his man and from 20 yards out curled a shot into the top corner. It was a great way to kick-off a Woods career - and for Northwood, the season started today!

Remarkably, this was the Woods' first away win in the Isthmian League since November 2019. The match report and photos are here.

Next in at Northwood is Teddy Stacey

Finally, for now, we also welcome Teddy Stacey to the Woods. Teddy joins us from Hadley FC, and we thank them and their manager Anthony McNamee for allowing this transfer to go through in good time.

Teddy was at Tottenham as a youth and then went to the US where he represented, ironically, Northwood College in Michigan as well as playing for Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds. He's a versatile player who can play in defence or midfield and we warmly welcome him to the club.

Carl Stewart signs for the Woods

Also joining the Woods today is former Watford youth midfielder Carl Stewart, who signs on a dual-registration basis from Beaconsfield Town.

Carl is a 24-year old who was also at Udinese as a youngster and then played in Poland for Zaglebie Sosnowiec. He has also had short spells at Oxford City, Banbury United, Bedfont Sports, Wingate & Finchley and most recently, Marlow.

We thank former Woods boss Gary Meakin for his help in getting this one sorted. Welcome to the Woods Carl!

Micah Jackson checks in at Northwood

Another player joining the Woods this week and included in the squad for tomorrow is Micah Jackson, an attacking midfielder who joins us from Enfield Borough FC, where he has played his football for the last three seasons.

This season he has netted eight times in 14 appearances, and prior to that he had a short spell at Cockfosters. We thank Enfield Borough FC for their cooperation in allowing this move to take place this week.

Welcome to the Woods Micah!

Sydney Ibie is next to sign

The Woods' next recruit is Dutch-born striker Sydney Ibie, who also joins from Potters Bar Town, where he has made a handful of appearances both this season and at the back of last season while also having a short spell with Beaconsfield Town.

The tall forward started out at Hemel Hempstead Town and had loan spells with Welwyn Garden City, Aylesbury United, Wantage Town and Chalfont St Peter where he netted four times in nine appearances. The 21-year-old will be looking to impress back at Step 4 with the Woods and we welcome him to the club.

Ryan Young joins the Woods

Another player added to the Northwood squad in time to take part on Saturday at Chipstead is attacking wide player Ryan Young.

The 26-year-old joins the Woods from Potters Bar Town, where he has been 2019 and will bring plenty of pace to the front-line.

Ryan started out in the Academy at QPR and has also played for Dunstable Town, Berkhamsted, Stotfold and Aylesbury FC. We are grateful to all at Potters Bar FC for clearing the way for the player to join so quickly. Welcome to the Woods Ryan!

Welcome back...Andy Lomas!!

The Woods are delighted to welcome back Andy Lomas into the playing squad.

Andy, now 31, first arrived at Northwood Park in August 2014, following a season at Walton & Hersham where he had been Player of the Year. Prior to that he played and skippered local side Oxhey Jets.

Andy was virtually ever-present over the next two seasons, making over 100 appearances, being part of the Middlesex Senior Cup success in 2016 and enjoying a clean sweep of Player of the Year awards that same year; taking home Supporters', Players' and Manager's versions.

He then moved up to join Harrow Borough, spent a few games back on loan at Northwood the following season and then moved to Potters Bar Town, where he has spent another successful four years including more Player of the Year trophies and a famous rare equalising goal against Barnet in the FA Cup.

Northwood announce their new management team

The Woods are delighted to welcome a new management team to the club this week with the arrival of former Hendon and Hampton & Richmond Borough coach Ben Bukowski, who teams up with the vastly experienced Steve Ringrose as Head Coach and Director of Football respectively.

Bukowski, who is 28 years old, spent several years alongside Gary McCann at the two Middlesex clubs and comes highly recommended for his first senior managerial role. Ringrose enjoyed great success locally with Hillingdon Borough and North Greenford and has also been involved with several other clubs in past years, latterly at Potters Bar Town, where he was firstly Manager and then as Director of Football as he played a huge role in assisting former Woods coach James Duncan into his first management job with the Scholars. Former Woods Player of the Year Andy Lomas also returns in a Player Coaching role, whilst Richard Elderfield continues on the coaching staff, and is joined by Dave Lawrence. Dan Daggett is the physiotherapist.

The Club thank our first team coaches George Lavender and Richard Elderfield for their interim work with the team over that past week as the Woods looked for a replacement for Ben Murray, who departed last Saturday evening.

The hard work starts immediately as Northwood FC look to recover from their worst ever start to a League season and quickly reverse their current run of nine successive Isthmian League defeats.

Northwood Chairman Ian Barry commented: “I am pleased to announce our new Management Team who take over with immediate effect. My thanks go to George and Richard for stepping in and looking after the team for the last two games, in difficult circumstances.

“Yesterday’s performance was a clear reminder of the failings that this season has thrown up and everything here needs to improve immediately. I have the utmost confidence that with the new structure in place, that has been put together thoughtfully and quickly, but also with a clear remit to steer us away from the bottom of the league to safety.

“I certainly have a new found positivity after what was, for me, a bitterly disappointing experience up to now this season. As always, everything will be done to turn this great club around and hopefully get us to where we want and deserve to be."

Keagan Cole is new management's first major signing

Our new management team have already made their first major signing as joining the Woods in a further player-coach capacity is former Hendon and Potters Bar attacking midfielder Keagan Cole, whose experience at Step 3 will be an important addition to the new squad.

The 22-year-old former West Ham United youngster became the youngest Hendon player to complete 100 appearances before joining the Scholars in 2018 and being a regular during the next three seasons. Welcome to the Woods, Keagan!

Woods' dismal run continues against South Park

Northwood's dismal run extended to nine successive Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeats this afternoon when South Park ran out 5-1 winners at The Fenton Civil Engineering Stadium.

The Redhill-based outfit controlled the first half, and were three-up at the break. Joakim Ehui raised the Woods' hopes briefly when he shot home on 57 minutes, but the visitors added two more goals before the end.

On a day when many sides were in FA Trophy action, Northwood's prospects at the wrong end of the table were not improved by Chalfont St Peter's second win of the season. The match report and photos are here.

Ben Murray leaves as Woods suffer eighth loss in a row

After today’s eighth successive Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeat for Northwood, 0-2 away to Bedfont Sports, which leaves the side still bottom of the table, the club have mutually agreed to part company with first team Manager Ben Murray. We thank him for his hard work since his appointment in May & wish him well for the future.

The report of today's game is here.
