The Woods went down to a 0-2 Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeat at Thatcham Town this afternoon, as they continue to struggle to turn things around and get back to winning ways.

The Berkshire outfit scored a goal in each half, the second coming with just a few minutes remaining and ensuring that Northwood returned home pointless again.

There was a debut in Northwood's goal for Watford youngster Roraigh Brown following Andrew McCorkell's decision to accept a very lucrative offer from Uxbridge, whilst there was a first start for recent signing Reece Cameron.

The Woods have continued to struggle over the past week or so whilst the website was taking a break away from the rain, with a draw and a defeat in two Pitching In Isthmian League South Central fixtures, followed by a cup exit.

Northwood took a good point with a goalless draw at in-form Leatherhead on Tuesday last week - report here - and despite a fighting comeback from a three-goal deficit, went down 2-4 at home to Chertsey last Saturday; the match report and photos are here.

And on Tuesday evening, Badshot Lea were 3-0 winners at The Skyline in a Velocity League Cup third round tie - and that report can be found here.

A single first half Raynes Park Vale goal was sufficient to send Northwood to Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeat in south-west London this afternoon.

A twelfth minute strike from Callum McAllister proved to be the decider, but the Woods did have chances to earn a draw in the closing stages, but none was taken.

The Woods' disappointing Pitching In Isthmian League South Central run continued yesterday evening when they were defeated 3-1 by Marlow at The Skyline Roofing Stadium, making it five successive league reverses.

Northwood manager Ben Bukowski was absent on holiday, so Director of Football Steve Ringrose was back in the dugout, but even his vast experience couldn't be translated into points. The home side started brightly without creating too many chances, and they were stunned by Marlow two goals in three minutes before half-time. Dan Williams pulled a goal back, helped by a defensive slip, on 52 minutes but the Blues wrapped up the points with an 89th minute third strike.

Northwood's Under 18s continued their 100% start to the Allied Counties League season when they beat Chalfont St Peter at The Skyline Roofing Stadium, Londin Latifi getting a hat-trick and Sarin Thapa also on the scoresheet.

The Woods slipped to Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeat this afternoon, when they were beaten 1-0 by Chipstead at The Skyline Roofing Stadium.

It has been difficult for Ben Bukowski’s side recently, and the Northwood boss gave debuts in this game to three new signings in former Ashford Town midfielder Prince Mbengui, forward Hannachi Zeid, who has been transferred from Binfield and defender George Milner-Smith on loan from Aldershot. However, Jacob Sewell's goal just before half-time decided the destination of the points.
