Woods are 2-1 winners at Ashford Town
Northwood gained their first win in March in this afternoon's Pitching In Isthmian League South Central game at Ashford Town (Middx), coming out 2-1 on top in the final reckoning.
The Woods netted two goals in the first half, through Sydney Ibie and Josh Helmore, but they needed to stay strong in the latter stages as the home side fought back well, having pulled one back just before the hour-mark. It was Northwood's eighth away league win of the season, a fine record!

Two deadline day signings for Northwood
Today marked registration deadline day in the Isthmian League and following a few injury issues recently, the Woods management team have made two additions to the squad.
Firstly, and actually signed last week, is defender Jesse Boateng. The young 21-year-old defender started out at Crystal Palace and Aldershot Town Academies and then played at Merstham, Wingate & Finchley and briefly at Uxbridge earlier this season.
Registered earlier today though was midfielder Riccardo Alexander-Greenaway (pictured) who joins the Woods on a dual-registration basis from Southern Premier side Hendon. Ric is also 21-years-old and previously played at Chalfont St Peter for two seasons, being named Player of the Year in 2019. He was similarly dual-registered with Barking earlier in the campaign. We thank Hendon FC and their manager Lee Allison for assisting with this signing.
We welcome both players to the club and hope they enjoy their time at the Woods.

Legendary keeper Toogood receives RAF football award
The club was delighted to hear that former Woods goalkeeping legend John Toogood recently received an award for outstanding service in RAF FA football. Well done John!
John, a former England Schoolboy international goalkeeper, was at Luton Town as a youngster. He had already played for North Harefield, Hillingdon Borough and Hendon, amongst others, before joining Northwood for the first time in April 1980.
His work with the RAF took him abroad in 1983 but he returned three years later and again made the goalkeeper's jersey his own until retiring in 1989. John became goalkeeping coach at the club and also had spells as first team coach and assistant manager, even having to don the gloves again at the age of 45 during a goalkeeping crisis. He gained many representative honours, including Combined Services, R.A.F., Middlesex County, and various leagues; he made a total of 226 appearances for Northwood.

Northwood took an early lead when skipper Keagan Cole drilled home from the penalty spot following a foul on Sydney Ibie. However, the visitors levelled eight minutes before the interval, but there was no further scoring and both sides would have been fairly satisfied with a point apiece.

Woods are beaten by South Park's first half goals
Three first half South Park goals were sufficient to condemn Northwood to a Pitching In Isthmian League South Central defeat in Reigate this afternoon.
It wasn't a Woods performance to the standard of many seen recently, the home side going ahead just after the half-hour mark, and there were two more South Park goals before the interval, on 42 and 44 minutes. But still the first half goals were not finished, as Teddy Stacey gave the Woods hope when he headed home an Andy Lomas corner two minutes into stoppage time.
However, Northwood were unable to claw their way back into the game after the break, with the scoreline ending at 1-3. The match report and photos are here.

Northwood go down to Barnet in cup semi-final
There was a big crowd at The F
enton Civil Engineering Stadium this evening to see the Woods take on National League Barnet in the semi-final of the Middlesex Senior Cup.
It was an entertaining game, with Northwood giving as good as they got for much of the time, but the Step One visitors proved too strong in the end, with two Adam Marriott goals in the space of five minutes deciding the tie in Barnet's favour. The Bees will face Brentford's B team in the final.

Woods winning away run ends at Bracknell
Northwood's long run of away Pitching In Isthmian League South Central victories - seven in a row - came to an end this afternoon, when they went down 0-3 at runaway league leaders Bracknell Town, who maintained their impressive 18 points lead at the top of the table.
It took two penalties, one being netted at the second attempt after Woods' keeper Dan Hosier had saved, to present Bracknell with their two-goal half-time advantage, and they wrapped up the points soon after the break.
