Four goals in Hertford United friendly
After going a goal down within two minutes at Hertford United, Northwood hit back to win 4-1 in this afternoon's pre-season friendly.
Hertford United are a new club, formed by former Woods manager Gordon Boateng, and Shakeel Morris levelled the scores on five minutes on the 4G surface.
Ismael Ehui netted twice and Sam Coles also got a goal towards the end, to complete the scoring.

First half goals win Flackwell Heath friendly
First half goals from Shakeel Morris and Joachim Ehui put Northwood on the way to a 2-1 victory in this evening's pre-season friendly away to Spartan South Midlands League Flackwell Heath. The home side's reply came four minutes before the full-time whistle.
Paul Masters' Under 18s played their first pre-season fixture, and came away from Leverstock Green with a 3-2 win under their belts, Will Robinson, Mayvin Vigneswaran and Josh Bettles scoring.

Woods lose opening home friendly to Chesham
This evening saw the Woods’ first fixture at the Fenton Civil Engineering Stadium for almost nine months, when they took on Chesham United of the Premier Division South of the Southern League in a pre-season friendly, but the Buckinghamshire visitors ran out 2-0 winners with a goal in each half.

Holmer Green are friendly winners
Northwood went down 2-1 in this afternoon's pre-season friendly away to Holmer Green of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One, Aaron Petch scoring for the Woods, his second in successive games.
The Woods' next warm-up outing sees them face higher level opposition, step 3 outfit Chesham United visiting the Fenton Civil Engineering Stadium on Friday evening.

Isthmian League fixtures are released
The Pitching In Isthmian League fixtures were released this evening, and the Woods start their
South Central Division campaign with a trip to Thatcham Town on Saturday 14th August. The first home League game is against Binfield two weeks later.
Northwood face Hanwell Town on Bank Holidays – away on Monday 30th August and at home on Monday 27th December – and finish the season at Staines Town on Saturday 23rd April. The full fixture list is here.

Woods win at Rayners Lane in first friendly
Ben Murray took charge of his first match as Northwood boss, and fielded a squad of triallists at Rayners Lane this afternoon.
The Woods led by a single goal from Aaron Petch at the interval, running out 4-2 winners in the end, thanks to a second half Ismael Ehui hat-trick.
Tuesday evening's friendly against FC Deportivo Gallicia has been cancelled, so the next game is at Holmer Green on 17th July.

FA competitions draws are out!
As the build-up to the new season continues, the draws for the early rounds of the Football Association competitions were released today - and in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round the Woods will play at home to the winners of the Shivenham v Burnham Extra Preliminary Round tie.
In the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy, Northwood entertain Haywards Heath Town, a club we have never played before, whilst in the FA Youth Cup Woods play away to Uxbridge in a Preliminary Round tie.

Isthmian Youth League squad trials on Tuesday
Trials for the Woods' under 18s Isthmian Youth League squad continue at 6.30pm next Tuesday, 5th July, at Northwood FC.
This session will be on grass; please wear training kit and footwear suitable for the weather on the day. Report to Manager Paul Masters, and good luck!
Northwood play in the West Division of the Isthmian Youth League, in which the following clubs also compete: Beaconsfield Town, Bedfont Sports, Camberley Town, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Hartley Wintney, Hayes & Yeading United, Marlow, Uxbridge and Wealdstone.

Make a date in your diary for Pat Byrne Memorial match
We’ve an important date for your diary! With Covid restrictions hopefully soon to be lifted, we have set a date to stage an event dedicated to the memory of former Club President Pat Byrne so that his many friends can join his family to reflect with memories of his life in Northwood.
The date is Sunday 12th September 2021, when we plan to stage a Pat Byrne Memorial Match at Northwood FC between two sides of former Woods players and perhaps a few other guests. It will be Byrne’s Northwood Legends v Pat’s Northwood Heroes and early plans are for a 3.00pm kick-off; perhaps a little earlier. We also hope to raise some funds towards the cost of a memorial at the ground for Pat so will be asking each player for a small donation (minimum £20) to take part.
Please get the date in your diary to attend on the day as we’d love to see you over some refreshments to remember Pat.
We’ve sent personal invitations to many former Northwood players to play in the game, and obviously there is a limit to how many can take to the pitch, but if you would like to then please contact Alan Evans on 07960 744349 to arrange it.
