Our hopes of a second successive East Division title were boosted when a visit to Holmer Green ended in an entertaining 6-3 success.
It was all over as a contest fairly early on as 16-year-old Freddie Ford scored twice in the first twenty minutes and then Tobi Faleye added a third on the half -hour before Frankie Pass made it 4-0.
The home side did reduce that to 4-1 by half-time but after the break the Woods stormed further ahead as Freddie Ford completed his first-ever hat-trick for the club and then Aidan Tarrant made it 6-1 before the hour was up.
It didn’t go all our way though as, having used all our five substitutes, Tarrant then had to go off injured and leave us with ten men for the final stages. Holmer Green responded well to that and scored twice to make the final score a lot more respectable.
