LAST GASP GOAL ROBS NORTHWOOD
R.A.F. XI 2  NORTHWOOD 2

Northwood completed the last of their senior pre-season friendly fixtures with a match against a strong R.A.F. representative side on Thursday evening.

The Middlesex Leaguers began the game very much on the attack. and they took the lead when Wanless tapped the ball in after the R.A.F. goalkeeper had fumbled a Willie Wordsworth drive.

But the servicemen replied early in the second half with a wonderful goal scored by Hickmott.

The Woods continued to press, but with Wordsworth beginning to show his skill on the wing they took the game to the R.A.F.

Northwood went ahead when Wordsworth fired home a 25-yard free-kick, but just as Woods were preparing to celebrate a victory, the R.A.F. scrambled the ball home to snatch a last-gasp equaliser.
