Having lost at home to Flackwell Heath in midweek, the Woods travelled to play away at play-off seeking Biggleswade Town looking to turn around their fortunes, the only change to the starting line-up saw Hamid Seisay replace Keagan Cole.
The home side dominated a scrappy start to the game and scored on their very first attack as Harrison Rookard found himself in space to finish well from outside the box on 12 minutes.
Northwood rarely got a look in during the first half. The Waders were awarded a penalty on 32 minutes but Ryan Kelly dived to his left to save well from Corey Wilson. A second goal wasn’t far away though as the ball was given away on the left and a cross picked out a free header for Emmanuel Dahie who scored in off the post.
Sadly, there was still time to concede a third before the break in similar fashion. This time it was a corner that picked out Dahie who gratefully headed home his second in five minutes.
There was a triple substitution at the break by manager Tommy Cooney as Freddie Ford, Mohamed Ali and Arel Amu all entered the fray as replacements for Seb Robbemond, Osa Otote and Gabriel Ipanga.
After 56 minutes Biggleswade Town were four goals ahead as Josh Steele found the top corner with an excellent strike from distance.
Two more substitutions followed for the Woods and on 65 minutes they recorded their first effort on goal as an Alie Bangura corner had goalkeeper Jack Berman flapping and the ball hit the crossbar.
Berman was back in action on 73 minutes as he had to save a long-distance strike from Seisay but after 82 minutes, a defensive slip allowed Niall Jones to nip in behind and thump home a fifth goal for the Waders.
It could have been worse as Andrew Bennett smashed a shot that rattled the crossbar in the last action of the match.
