Rod joined the club from Harefield United in the summer of 1994 and at 6ft 4ins certainly looked a valuable signing. He ended up playing 51 league games and scored three goals but by March 1996 his poor timekeeping proved too much for the management team in charge and he was on his way.

Rod eventually settled at Cheshunt and was there for several seasons.
