Richard played a couple of games for the Woods at the end of the 1984/85 season, having previously been associated with the club through two and a half years with the now defunct Northwood Sunday side. He had previously played for Hillingdon Borough, Harrow Borough and Wealdstone. He became more of a regular the following season and was very much a utility player who could play both defensive and midfield roles. Tenacious and always giving 100%, he was very much a crowd favourite until leaving in 1988. Since then he had held coaching roles at Ruislip Manor, Amersham Town and Beaconsfield Sycob, while he also played a part in the set-up of the youth academy here at Northwood in the last couple of years.
