After winning two England Schoolboys caps, Dave started his career at Luton Town, where he progressed as far as the reserves, Dave played at top level in senior amateur football, and appeared at Wembley with Hounslow Town in the 1962 FA Amateur Cup final. He played later for Chesham United, Slough, Maidenhead, Hampton, Southall, Carshalton, Walton & Hersham, Harrow Borough, Staines Town, Harefield United and Molesey, before winding up his career at Northwood Park: he was at Northwood for one season before starting again with the Veterans.

Unfortunately, Dave died in an accident in the late ‘80s.
