A solid and reliable young defender who was signed in July 2005 following his release by Luton Town. Max was handed a first team squad number at Kenilworth Road midway through the 2003/04 season, although he didn't make the senior team. Max's impressive form in the Luton Under-19s led to him being offered the third year of his football scholarship at the club, but although he was involved with the first team in pre-season, he was not offered professional terms.

Injuries meant that he never really settled at Northwood.
