Alistair started his career at QPR, where he was a regular in the youth team from 2000-02, and after his release played briefly at Hayes. He had three separate spells at Northwood, and has also played for Bishops Stortford, Cheshunt and Wingate & Finchley, amongst others.

He is still recovering from a horrific car crash in September 2006, in which his skull was fractured, and the driver, fellow Wingate player Simon Patterson, was killed.
