Shayne made his Hayes debut in May 2003 following his release by Chelsea, but the progress of the skilful central midfield player was curtailed somewhat by injuries, and made only 13 appearances for the Church Road club, scoring once. He switched to Hendon in December 2004, making a similar number of appearances there before signing for Northwood in July 2005.

But again, he suffered an injury-hit season, and wasn't seen for the following campaign.
