Tommy was appointed Northwood manager in March 2026. He joined the Woods from a good spell managing Spartan South Midlands League side Arlesey Town, finishing just outside the play-offs in 2024-25 and left them three points off the play-off places this season.
The 30-year-old was in his first management role at Arlesey Town, while he also has a role in the Stevenage FC Academy. Born in Galway, Ireland, as a player he was a left-back who started his career in his native country with Athlone Town, Longford and Sligo Rovers before being spotted by Brentford where he played for their Elite Development B-squad.
He represented Ireland up to U19 level, but was released by the Bees in summer 2015 and, after moving north, played for Scarborough Athletic, Brighouse Town, Boston United and Corby Town. He also played for Margate before a spell in Australia with Preston Lions. Back in England he then joined Bognor Regis Town before stints at Hayes & Yeading, Ashford United, Hungerford Town and Leatherhead.
Tommy moved abroad again to play for Skelleftea in Sweden and Finnish club VPS, before returning to join Braintree Town, then Sevenoaks Town, Hornchurch and Leatherhead again. In January 2022, he signed for Hastings United but Faversham Town was his next club at the start of 2022-23. He then became a coach at Dulwich Hamlet. Tommy signed for Isthmian Premier side Potters Bar ahead of 2023-24 but in December 2023, he became manager of Arlesey Town.
