Having been discarded by Wealdstone, Yaks had
been impressing at Ruislip Manor when he was
asked to come along to pre-season training at
Northwood in 1999. His first two games, in
friendly matches, saw him score four times, at
Bedfont and against Wealdstone and it soon
became apparent that we might have something
special to watch.
Yaku's first season produced an astonishing club
record of 61 goals in all games - 36 of them in
our Isthmian Division Two promotion season. That
form continued the following season at the
higher level, this time netting 47 goals -
reaching 30 for the Isthmian season with a final
day hat-trick. In his third and final year at
Northwood he "only" managed 37
competitive goals!
He continued to be a prolific goalscorer at
Maidenhead United, and joined Hampton & Richmond
Borough in August 2005.
