Ken started out his goalkeeping career as a youth
at QPR but then had long and distinguished
non-League service with many clubs including
Southall, Harefield United, Chesham United, Harrow
Borough, Woking, Ruislip, Kingsbury Town and, of
course, with Northwood. He made his first-team
debut in a London Spartan League game at home to
Crown & Manor in November 1988, keeping a clean
sheet in a 4-0 victory.
When he left for Southall in September 1993 he had
made 193 League and Cup appearances, playing a
huge part in the London Spartan League & Cup
“double” success of 1992, when the Woods won
promotion to the Isthmian League and having also
kept goal when the League Cup was won in 1990.
