In many ways, Andy was a catalyst for the Woods' London Spartan League success, bringing that extra burst of pace as soon as he joined the club in the summer of 1989. He scored on his debut at Thamesmead and also got the club’s first-ever goal in the FA Cup competition. He also was in the starting line-up for the first-ever match in the Isthmian League, at Bracknell Town, in August 1992. Andy left a month or so later having totalled 106 competitive appearances and scored 39 goals, and would later be seen playing against Northwood at sweeper for Harefield United.
