Two goals by Londin Latifi were not enough to beat the Hares at the Skyline Roofing Stadium.
Latifi was set up by Jeremy Scholz for the opening goal after 23 minutes and just seven minutes later he was put through again, this time by James Payne to make it 2-0 and the Woods held that lead through to half-time.
The Woods continued to dominate early in the second half but after the Hares keeper had made a couple of excellent saves to deny Alex Grant, they scored from a counter-attack on 57 minutes.
Grant went close on a couple of other occasions but it was deep into stoppage-time that Harefield bagged an equaliser so two points dropped for Northwood in their title challenge.
