The Woods will have been disappointed to have lost this friendly, having led three times in the match.

An excellent move between Shane O'Neill and Elliott Buchanan led to the latters cross being converted by Peter Dean after just 8 minutes but a Michael Black free-kick brought the Ryman Premier visitors level on 19 minutes.

Just before the break a similar move saw Buchanan again set up Dean for a second goal but four minutes into the second-half Wood were level again when top striker Leon Archer broke through.

The action continued, and after 63 minutes the impressive Shane O'Neill was fouled, having burst into the area, and Peter Dean took the opportunity to complete his first-ever hat-trick for the club by converting the spot-kick.

Still Boreham Wood continued to press and former Woods player Andre Delisser levelled the scores on 70 minutes.

The winner came with five minutes to go after an uncharacteristic error from Mark Dennison gifted a goal to Jamie Hazell.
