Match Reports 2009-10

8th Nov. 2009: Northwood 1 AEK 0

This week we had AEK at home with a midday kick-off. The boys were all in their position again and raring to get going. The boys were taking the game to AEK and were pushing forward constantly. Passing the ball and running forward with Silvio, James and Hugo defending when they was needed, it seemed we had possession of the ball most of the time and with Cam runs at goal, Jay Marcus and Tom’s runs down the line we managed to get a goal from a run from Tom down the line and unselfishly pulled the ball back across goal for Cam to get it in.
Cam was so eager to get another goal he got the ball from the center kick run the whole length of the pitch only to hit the crossbar but he must remember the other time must touch the football first. Harry was keeping the ball out of net when he needed to, the half time score was 1–0.
During the second half the boys was still applying the pressure and the defence again wasn’t letting much through and the front three was pounding there goal but there goalie was playing a blinding game. So the final score was 1-0.
Well done to the boys for playing entertaining football and another win.

1st Nov. 2009: Bushey Rangers 3  Northwood White 8

There was confusion over the final score, but the boys won 8–3, beating Bushey Rangers away. Cam got 4 goals, Marcus 2 and Jay 2.
MOTM went to Tom for his concentration and unselfish play.

25th Oct. 2009: Northwood White 6 Harvesters South 0

This week’s match was against Harvesters South at home, we have played Harvesters before and lost twice, so we knew this would be a hard game. The game started with the boys putting Harvesters under pressure, wow this was a surprise as Harvesters looked a bit shocked and realised this was not going to be an easy game. The boys were pushing forward with Cam, Marcus and Tom with some good passing and it had to happen that they broke down there defence with our first goal from Cam, what a great start, followed by Marcus and after a bit of subbing, Jay. 3 - 0 was I dreaming, but then another from Cam just before half time. And with James, Hugo and Silvio in defence, I think Harry only touched the ball a few times.

What could you tell the boys at half time but to do the more of the same this half. The second half was underway, Harvesters was looking determined to get back into the game.  But the boys where still playing great football with the odd one, two which was cutting there defence and we was having quite a few chances on there goal, our defence was staying strong and keeping the ball out of the goal. The next goal was an own goal which hit one of there players from a Jay throw-in. Then very close to the end, Tom pushed forward and did a lovely pass to Zaki who finished it off with style. This was a great result from usually a strong Harvesters side.

MOTM went to James because of his outstanding performance in defence all this season.
