Woods go down 3-0 at Marlow

Northwood's final game of 2018 wasn't one that they will remember for long, as Scott Dash's side went down 0-3 away to Marlow in a Bostik League fixture this afternoon.

Marlow took a 20th minute lead through Junaid Bell with a spectacular long-range effort, and they went in at the break two goals to the good when a corner wasn't cleared allowing Adam Richards to head home. The Woods rarely threatened to get back into the game in the second half, and Marlow clinched the points with a third goal 10 minutes from the end after a combination of defensive errors.

The match report and photos are here.

Boxing Day derby points are shared

Today's Boxing Day Middlesex derby at the Acretweed Stadium ended with the Bostik League points being shared following a 1-1 draw with Uxbridge.

Both goals came in the first half, Dan Pett putting Northwood ahead on 35 minutes with an accurate shot which went in off a post. Uxbridge, however, levelled within five minutes through Luke Joyce-Dwanka.

Manager Scott Dash gave a debut from the bench to new signing Jabir Laraba, a forward who was previously with London Tigers, Wembley, Ashford Town and Uxbridge.

Woods share the points with Hanwell

The Bostik League points were shared at The Acretweed Stadium this afternoon, when Northwood drew 2-2 with Hanwell Town in their Middlesex derby.

After a goal-less first half, the visitors took the lead soon after the restart, but the Woods levelled on 64 minutes, when Ben Pattie's corner was headed home by recent signing Imran Uche.

However, Hanwell edged ahead again within three minutes with a 25-yards strike from Tom Collins. The equaliser came on 73 minutes when Ben Pattie fired home a 20-yards free-kick, but despite the visitors being reduced to ten men following a red card, Northwood couldn't manage a winner.

The Active IT Solutions Man of the Match was Imran Uche. The match report and photos are here. The highlights are on WoodsTV here.

So who is Scott Dash? Meet the new manager!

Scott Dash was appointed the new Northwood manager earlier this week, but who is here? We tell you here!

35 year old Scott joined the Woods as assistant manager in the summer, and when Dean Barker left a few weeks ago, he stayed on as interim manager, assisted by Kevin Lawrence and Richard Elderfield.

Having guided the team to collect ten points from his five Bostik League fixtures in temporary charge, he has now been rewarded with the permanent role.

Scott was at Wycombe Wanderers as a youth, then played for Hayes, Beaconsfield and Hillingdon Borough before a knee injury forced his retirement, aged just 23.

He managed Leverstock Green Under 18s with plenty of success over several years before having two seasons at first team level, with the club finishing 2017-18 in seventh place in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division.

Following his appointment as boss, Scott commented: “I would like to thank Chairman Ian Barry and the club for giving me the opportunity to become the first team manager on a permanent basis. I will continue to give my best developing the team and helping the club moving forward.”

Scott Dash is appointed first team manager

The club are delighted to announce the permanent appointment of Scott Dash as Manager following a spell as interim boss.

Chairman Ian Barry commented: “We are very happy to appoint Scott as our new Manager. He has shown the required commitment and desire since taking up the reins a few weeks ago.

"I do appreciate that it may have taken slightly longer than usual to make this decision, but I needed to see Scott work and demonstrate all the aspects of what I want to see in a Manager, which he has done.

"He has steadied the ship and already started to make improvements to the squad. We wish him well in his new position and welcome him to the Northwood Family.”

Woods win away to Egham Town

Despite going behind with less than a minute on the clock, Scott Dash's Northwood side bounced back to take all three Bostik League South Central points with a 3-1 victory away to Egham Town this afternoon.

The equaliser arrived within ten minutes, San Jenkins heading home from a Ben Pattie free-kick for his first goal for the Woods. And on 24 minutes Chris Gosling swung in a corner which the home keeper got a hand to but couldn't prevent the ball flying into the net for the visitors to take the lead; a first Northwood goal for Chris, too!

Two minutes from the end another Ben Pattie dead-ball, this time a corner, set up Dan Newton to fire home number three and confirm the victory. The match report and photos are here.

Northwood hit six in Middlesex Cup

The Woods romped to a 6-0 victory when they took a break from Bostik League action this evening against near-neighbours Harefield United in a Middlesex Senior Charity Cup second round tie at The Acretweed Stadium.

Both sides made changes to their regular line-ups, Jonathan Moanda and Imran Uche making their Northwood debuts in defence, and the home side had several chances to take the lead before Ben Pattie fired them ahead on 38 minutes.

Dan Pett struck the second four minutes after the break, and further goals followed from Pattie again (58 minutes), Matt Cooper (74), Kyran Worrell (84) and Kweku Lucan (88), as Northwood moved into the quarter-final.

The match report is here; you can still download the matchday programme here.
