HILLINGDON BOROUGH YOUTH v NORTHWOOD YOUTH

Tonight, Wednesday 12th March, the Allied Counties Under 18s side attempt to win the Jeff Ritson Middlesex Youth Cup for the first time as they take on Hillingdon Borough in the Final. The game takes place at North Greenford United FC with kick-off set for 7.30p.m.

The youngsters are enjoying an excellent season, currently sitting in second place behind Hayes & Yeading in the Premier Division table and also through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

In the Jeff Ritson, which is for senior sides who field a youth team, the Woods started with a 2-0 victory over Wealdstone and have followed that with a comprehensive 6-1 success at Uxbridge at the quarter-final stage and then a 4-1 defeat of Edgware Town in the last four.

The management team of Jez Reilly and Phil Hatcher have got the side playing some excellent football and all Northwood fans are encouraged to make the short trip to cheer on the side.

Hillingdon Borough won 3-1 at holders North Greenford United in the opening round but were then given a bye in the quarter-finals after Hendon pulled out. A semi-final against Harefield United ended in a 2-2 draw and it was Hillingdon who went through after a penalty shoot-out.

The Borough sit in third place in their East Division Allied Counties table and have also run into some good form lately.

It is ten years since a Northwood Under 18 side won a County Cup competition, when Geoff Foster's team took the Sunday version by beating Sudbury Court 4-2with Richard Morton scoring a hat-trick.
